Portable bridge-mounted piezo with built-in wireless capability and volume control for violin or viola
KNA's innovative approach enables violin and viola players to have freedom of movement while bringing the natural tone of their instrument to an amplifier or mixer.
The system includes a rechargeable transmitter and receiver, and everything needed to plug in and play.
Integrated wireless system
KNA VV-Wi incorporates a wireless signal transmission for a reliable, stable and cable-free connection to an amplifier, mixer or audio interface. The built-in UHF transmitter offers performers a high-fidelity sound with the ability to move around the stage freely.
Optional wired connection
For the studio or other times when a wireless connection isn’t needed, VV-Wi plugs in with a regular 1/8″ audio cable.
Safe install
Mount the pickup jack housing on the lower bout, just below the waist on the 4th (G) string side of your instrument. Adjust the height of the barrel clamps to tighten the pickup to the instrument.
Onboard volume control
Players can control their output signal onstage or in the studio by clicking the onboard "+" and "-" buttons.
Elegant transmitter housing, sensor and flexible reciever
The transmitter housing is encased in elegant and stylish mahogany. The piezo sensor has a lightweight wooden casing to achieve maximum tonal sensitivity. The flexible receiver provides convenience!
Natural sound
VV-Wi has a passive piezo design that reproduces the instrument's authentic voice.
Protection for your instruments finish
The adjustable clamps have protective padding at each point of contact to prevent damage to your instrument’s finish.
Great compatibility with many sizes of violin and viola
The pickup comes with universal size barrels to attach the jack housing equally well to both violin and viola bodies with just a few turns.

The new UCB C port provides faster charging for the devices at any time.
Instructions
1️⃣Choose the most convenient place for the jack housing depending on the type of your chinrest, size of your instrument and your playing technique. We recommend installing the jack housing on the left (G string). Some players prefer to install it on the right side, which works just as well.
2️⃣Extend the clamps by holding the pickup and the bottom feet of the clamp while loosening the center barrels. After choosing the desired position, tighten the barrels with the provided metal key.
3️⃣Some bridge slot openings will need to be widened slightly. We recommend 400 grit sandpaper, folding the paper appropriately to make it sturdy. If possible, use a thin piece of plastic or metal plate between the sandpaper. This will help while sanding and keep the sanded surface flat, which is important. Before you start sanding, use appropriately cut cardboard placed around the bridge to protect the varnish of the instrument. Widen the slot slowly, stopping frequently to try attaching the pickup sensor. This will avoid making the slot too wide.
4️⃣Install the sensor into the horizontal eye slot of the bridge on the lst (E) string side, so that the cable is on the outer side of the bridge. Hold the bridge with your free hand so it does not move while installing the sensor. The sensor should fit tightly but install without force. It should not move while playing or even shaking the viola, but not too tight where the sensor or bridge can be damaged or broken.
5️⃣With the volume off, plug the receiver into your favorite high-impedance acoustic amplifier. The output of the receiver is 1/8" (3.5mm). The included adapter can connect most amplifiers and audio equipment, which have a 1/4" (6.35mm) input. The pickup also supports a wired connection to equipment via an instrument cable with a 1/8" (3.5mm) male jack that plug into the transmitter's input. Hold the transmitter with one hand while attaching and detaching the cable.
6️⃣Turn on the transmitter, long press "+" for 5 seconds, and when the blue light flashes quickly, that indicates that the pairing status has been entered. Turn on the receiver, and the blue light will flash as it's pairing. When the blue light is solid, you're ready to enjoy your new pickup.
