Dresden Origin, 6 Generations of Piano Making

The beginning of the 19th century marks the “Golden era” of piano making where Paul Werner was founded, saw more than 10,000 German piano brands and the European piano industry make remarkable improvements and developments. 

Paul Werner has its origin in Dresden. After inheriting the piano factory  acquired by his father  Carl Werner in 1816, Paul Werner took long years of  apprenticeship with the most famous piano builder in Germany Leipzig, Kassel, Munich and other parts of Europe including Vienna. 

The return of Paul Werner to Germany in 1867 was a crucial  milestone in the innovations of Paul Werner piano iron frame fabrication which contributed to the great performance of its tonal range and unique depth of sound enabling the finest of nuances.

200 Years of Precious Paul Werner Piano  Heritage 

1816     Carl Werner’s first piano factory was set up

1857    Paul Werner headed the factory with his invaluable skills after years of piano 
            Apprenticeship 

1857   Innovation in the piano production took place including dedicated employment of the  
           the new iron frame technology

1886   The piano factory was officially named after the founder Paul Werner

1892   Notably the preferred instrument of choice for the royal families

1899  Otto Fraz Werner became the 2nd  generation successor

1903   Paul Werner Junior was the 3rd  generation in the family to chair the business

1904   Paul Werner trademark was successfully registered

1929   Kurt Werner succeeded the business from Paul Werner Junior as the 4th generation

1950  The factory was relocated to  Straubin and a new showroom was opened at its central of the city.

1967   The 5th generation : Siegfried Werner

1967  The company set up keyboard production facility at Deggendorf

1997 New production facility set up at Straubin. Music Station Piano Company was formed.

2017   Currently, the company is under the leadership of the 6th generation : Stefan Werner

PAUL WERNER upright and grand pianos are made in Japan Hamamatsu by ENSCHU Musical Instrument Production Inc.. It has the advantages of transferred experience, tradition and know-how of decades of sophisticated craftsmanship and cost effectiveness.

The upright piano features premium quality material from Germany and FFW hammer heads, ROSLAU Strings. The piano comes in a streamlined cabinet with exterior silver hardware that is designed for modern-day living.
